Font families
Crafted and designed for computer screens, Roboto features a tall x-height to aid readability of mixed-case and lower-case text and have several OpenType features.
Roboto Mono is for use in programming environments and other circumstances where a monospaced font is specified. All monospace characters have the same width, allowing for comfortably reading of extended text on screen.
We use Roboto in the product and for all marketing collateral.
The Roboto font family is freely available for downloading at Google Fonts.
Font stacks (fallbacks)
Sometimes Roboto cannot be used, for example in email templates. When Roboto cannot be used, try commonly used sans-serif fonts in this order:
- Default sans-serif for the platform
- Helvetica Neue
- Helvetica
- Arial
